Directions Theatre is proud to bring you “Twelfth Night” – full of mistaken identities, misdirected passions, high comedy, low tricks and unexpected poignancy – follows the tales of love in all its many disguises.
Viola believing her twin brother Sebastian to have drowned after a shipwreck that she has survived, finds herself stranded in mysterious Illyria. Disguising herself as a boy, she enters the service of the Handsome Duke Orsino who is madly in love with the beautiful Countess Olivia. But when the Countess sees the boy she falls madly in love!!
Meanwhile Oliva’s roguish cousin Sir Toby Belch is busy planning all kinds of mischief. Together with Oliva’s gentlewoman Maria and his friend Sir Andrew Aguecheek, the prankster Belch schemes to embarrass the pompous steward Malvolio.
Twelfth Night is funny, tender and a perfect show for the Botanical Gardens.Directed by Chris Hamley, a past performer of Shakespeare in the Gardens. A strong cast of local tauring Jared Goldsmith, Jessica Davies, Mark Morgan, Natalie Venettaci, Shane Russo, Karen Kluss, Marcus Johnson, Harley Mason, Sam de Zoete, Nakita Gabatel, Kath Uziallo, Aidan Furst.
