The CWA Shop is a Tasmanian institution, selling home-made food produce including cakes, biscuits, shortbread, slices, pavlovas, jams, chutneys, marmalades and (in season) freshly picked garden flowers, vegetable, genuine free-range eggs, fruit and Christmas puddings.
None (to our knowledge) contain preservatives and the CWA has steadfastly countered government moves to have them list every ingredient, pointing to their decades-long record of never having made a single person ill. Produce is however now identified to the maker by a numbering system, which has a great plus: when you find one you really like you can reorder (eg tomato sauce by number 16, etc).
They take orders (allow 2 or 3 days depending on what it is) incluing filled pavs and cakes which are especially good for children being low in artificial colourings etc. They also sell knitwear, hand made children's toys and a range of recipes booklets.
Prices are extremely reasonable and payment is by cash only. Profits go to various causes supported by the CWA, eg rural services.
