Le Provencal, located in North Hobart, is Southern Tasmania's premier French provincial restaurant.
Much loved and well sponosred by local foodies for over 15 years, this boutique establishment is unpretentious, serves consistently "honest," perfectly cooked provincial French food. The service is knowledgeable, polite and charming.
The only "not so French" characterstic of the delightful Le Provencal is that serving sizes are generous indeed.
Chef Jean-Claude Rival, classically trained in Paris' Michelin starred bistros, prepares all the dishes himself. Le Provencal offers some wonderful French wines at reasonable prices and a no corkage BYO (wine only) option.
With three dining rooms, Le Provencal offers stand out dishes such as hot duck pate with brioche, eye fillet served with a classic bearnaise sauce and a wonderful array of desserts. Bon Appetit Francophiles!
