Located in Hobart, Tasmania, Lark Distillery not only produces premium Tasmanian single malt whisky, it now offers a range of fully escorted tours including the Ultimate Whisky Experience.
The one day tour starts at the Whisky Bar in Hobart and includes a visit to historic Richmond, an inspection of Lark's Mount Pleasant Distillery, lunch at Meadowbank Winery and concludes with a guided tasting back at the Whisky Bar.
The two day tour includes the one day tour format with the additional day spent touring the peat bog in Tasmania's central highlands and visiting Tarraleah Lodge and the Salmon Ponds at Plenty.
But for the genuine whisky aficionado, the four day Ultimate Whisky Experience would be a must. This exclusive tour includes a day in the central highlands and three days actually assisting making the whisky and following the spirit all the way through to final barrelling. The fourth day ends with a whisky dinner where rare and interesting malts are tasted and discussed over a dinner featuring haggis and fine Tasmanian cheeses.
This extended visit to Lark may also be tailored for groups to include such activities as golf, fly fishing or visits to other Tasmanian attractions to fit in with the production times.
An added feature of this tour is the option to fill a 20 litre cask of your choice with the malt spirit you have helped produce. This type of ‘hands on' or ‘full immersion' tour is unique to Lark Distillery and represents a most attractive opportunity for any devoted single malt whisky fan.
