The Tasmanian Honey Company is located at Perth, just 15 minutes' drive from Launceston.

Julian Wolfhegen founded the Tasmanian Honey Company in 1980. A consummate environmentalist, Julian's interest in bees and honey came as he was searching for a more meaningful life path - one that was both ecologically and philosophically sustainable. What started as a bottle of fine mead with friends around the fire on a cold winters night, ultimately resulted in what is now the Tasmanian Honey Company.

The Tasmanian Honey Company offers tours of a working honey producer were you can see organic Leatherwood and candied Meadow Honey being made. Collected only in Tasmania, Leatherwood honey has a distinctive spicy flavour and has developed a reputation as a fine gourmet product both in Australia and overseas.

The factory tour lets you see how the Tasmanian Honey Company carefully extracts the honey from the hives to preserve the full aroma and flavour of their Leatherwood honey. Tasmanian Honey Company products are packaged in beautiful metal cans, glass and break-proof jars. Honey products including gifts sets are available from their Tasmanian produce showroom.
