Devonport Historic Cottages offers heritage accommodation at Devonport, north west Tasmania. Devonport is an hour and fifteen minutes west of Launceston (101 kilometres/63 miles).
Devonport Historic Cottages offers three 19th century cottages in central Devonport. Built in 1883 as a workman's dwelling, Rosalie Cottage has been fully restored and decorated with period furniture and memorabilia. Accommodating up to four guests, this National Trust classified weatherboard cottage features a canopied, four-poster bed, deep bath in the large elegant bathroom, Baltic pine-lined walls and an antique gramophone. Rosalie Cottage also has a fully-equipped kitchen and laundry, and the living area has a television and VCR and a selection of books, toys and games for children.
Generous breakfast provisions include fresh bacon and eggs, a choice of cereals and delicious homemade bread with jam, honey and marmalade. Freshly baked biscuits and tea and coffee are also provided. You can sink into a welcoming armchair by the open fireplace to enjoy port and a cheese platter or dine al fresco with a barbecue dinner in your private courtyard and cottage garden.
Devonport Historic Cottages also offers the cosy and charming Turton Cottage and the two-storey, three-bedroom Princess Mary Cottage.
