Shannon Coastal Cottages offer fully self-contained accommodation on the north side of Currie Harbour, King Island. King Island lies 80 kilometres northwest of Tasmania and is a one-hour flight from Melbourne and an hour and twenty minutes from Devonport. Situated on the west coast of King Island the cottages are a three kilometre drive from the main town of Currie or a 15 to 20 minute walk around the harbour by beach and track.
There are two cottages - Blencathra Cottage is a one-bedroom cottage with full cooking and laundry facilities and bathroom spa. Shannon Cottage is a two-bedroom cottage which sleeps five, also fully self-contained with a bathroom spa. You will enjoy great views of Currie harbour and the working cray fleet as well as the southern ocean from both cottages.
Shannon Coastal Cottages is a four and a half star, tourism accredited property and is situated in an excellent position from which to explore the island. You can see an abundance of native wildlife, including little penguins. Taste cheeses at the King Island Dairy, or try fine beef and crayfish (in season) at the local pubs and restaurants.
