Budburst in a Tasmanian vineyard
Brook Eden Vineyard is a work in progress for Peter McIntosh and partner Sue. Looking out from the cosy tasting room to the land around you will see new vines being planted as the old ones gain maturity. The existing pinot noir, chardonnay, riesling and pinot gris plantings are being increased and another aromatic variety will be added to the portfolio.
Peter’s change of life from making TV commercials in Sydney to running a vineyard is a complete seachange. As well as tending vines he and Sue are also rehabilitating wetlands on the lower part of their 170 acres. A small brood of wandering ducks, some chooks, peacocks, platypus in the dam, echidnas and the odd dog add to the rustic charm of a vineyard you are always welcome to visit.
