The 28th Tasmanian Wine Show, the regional show for all of the state's wines, was held in mid-January.

Chairman of Judges was Huon Hooke with James Halliday as Emeritus Chairman, both continuing their involvement from the second and first shows respectively, nearly three decades ago.

International Judge Patrick Comiskey flew in from Los Angeles, where he is currently the chief wine columnist for the Los Angeles Times, and was joined by Glenn Thompson of Victoria's Domaine Chandon. Sharing the duties were Associate Judges Michael Downer (Mudoch Hill, SA), Neil Bent (Winemaking Tasmania), Justin Arnold (Ghost Rock) and Brian Widstrand (Pipers Brook).
