Strathgordon is located deep in Tasmania's south west and boasts Australia's largest freshwater catchment.
Lake Pedder and Lake Gordon lie at the northern edge of Tasmania's south west wilderness, holding about 27 times more water than Sydney Harbour. Together, tlakes form Australia's largest freshwater catchment. Both lakes are excellent wild trout fisheries and have good boat launching facilities. Always check the weather forecast before boating as lake conditions can change rapidly.
