Falls Creek is Victoria's largest and most picturesque alpine village, and sets the scene for a great weekend holiday with excellent accommodation and activities for not only triathletes, but for their friends and family as well.
This sensational triathlon will be the host of the 2012 Australian Long Course Championships along with the Victorian Long Course Championships, coupled with the trail running festival it is an absolute must for your Multi Sport Calendar. Entries at the inaugural event last year poured in at a very rapid pace as participants geared up for what was being classified as a gruelling but very rewarding event. This year participants will battle their way through one of Australia's most challenging triathlons, over the two kilometre swim, 80 kilometre cycle and 20 kilometre trail run. Then enjoy the post race party back in the Falls Creek Village on Saturday night.
Falls Creek is a testament to perfect racing conditions, with wonderful summer weather predicted for the event this year. Amongst a breathtaking scenic backdrop, over 2000 people are expected to make the journey to Falls Creek. Don't miss your opportunity to experience something truly special! For those who aspire to represent Australia you have a very good chance to win a place in the team by racing at the 2XU Falls Creek Triathlon.
A great field is gathering for the event with Clayton Fettell (one of the emerging stars of the sport) the latest to join Luke Bell, Jan Rehula, Mitch Anderson, Madeleine Oldfield and a host of others all racing for the $10,000 prize money. But you don't have to be a champion to compete, everyone who finishes the Falls Course is a winner and will receive an event plaque as a memento of their achievement.
