Tahbilk, Victoria’s oldest family-owned winery located in the Nagambie Lakes region of Central Victoria, just a 90 minute drive from Melbourne, is set to host its annual Open Day on Sunday, October 9. A fantastic day out, guests are invited to join the Purbrick family for a day of fine wine, delicious food and fun entertainment and activities on the historic Tahbilk property.
Established in 1860, Tahbilk has been owned by the Purbrick family since 1925 when Reginald Purbrick purchased the property. Five generations of Purbricks have worked at Tahbilk with current Chairman John Purbrick (third generation), current CEO Alister (fourth generation), and Alister’s daughter, Hayley, joining the business as the fifth generation of the Purbrick family to work at Tahbilk.
Tahbilk's Open Day offers a range of free activities for everyone to enjoy and is a lovely wa to break bread with the Purbrick family. Set among the historic vineyards and Wetlands nature reserve, the annual open day is a perfect opportunity to relax with family and friends, whilst enjoying all there is on offer at this stunning location. Gates open at 11.00am and close at 4.30pm, and there will be something for everyone.

• Free guided tours of the original National Trust classified 1860 and 1875 Winery and underground Cellars
• Free boat cruises along the stunning Tahbilk billabongs
• Free entry for a walk through the Tahbilk Eco Trails - stroll along more than 4.5kms of pathways and boardwalks of the Eco Trails
• Free entry into the beautiful Homestead Garden to view a mix of contemporary plants and design features, as well as historic trees dating back to the early 1850s
Guests will also have the pleasure of enjoying the sensational sounds of the Mathew Fagan Band and f a Flamenco Dancer in the historic Cellar Yard.
The day will feature lots of fun free activities to keep the kids entertained, including a children’s colouring competition hosted by Rosa Purbrick, a jumping castle, Balloon Antics with Balloonatic Bruce, face painting, plaster painting and much more.
Visitors also have the chance to win a $5000 Cellar of selected vintage premium release Tahbilk reds just by being at the winery on the day and completing an entry form.
