Chef and owner, George Biron, has in Autumn 2008, reopened his immensely popular Sunnybrae Restaurant and Cooking School in Birregurra near Colac.
The new series of cooking classes is based around hands-on preparation, and of course enjoyment of a balanced 4 course meal highlighting the best seasonal, but perhaps less commonly used ingredients. They will be on Mondays only.
Participants can have an input on what is covered in the class by indicating your preferences when booking. So if you have an interest in cooking, say, young goat, squab, oysters, terrines, or any unusual or interesting dishes or cuisines, Sunnybrae will incorporate them into the class provided the ingredients are in season and available fresh. The courses are designed to inspire.
WHEN: Mondays. Classes begin at 9.30 for 10 am and finish at about 3.30 pm.
BRING: A sharp knife, an apron, sensible shoes and an enthusiasm for good food and wine.
COST: $110 pp including all wines and GST. Maximum 12 participants. For group bookings please phone, also standby rate $100.
Open for lunch on Saturdays and Sundays.
