The gourmet trails of regional Victoria have been trod by many a food writer, covering a new venue in an established destination from a slightly different angle... or driving a familiar route to find car parks already filled…

It’s time to discover something completely new.

Explore a region whose fertile soils and high rainfall produce over 20% of Australia’s dairy, whose grass-fed beef and lamb are in demand among Melbourne’s finest restaurants, a region where you can still dine on fresh seafood overlooking the ocean.

Gippsland boasts jaw-dropping natural beauty. Lush rolling farmland cascading down to pristine beaches, epic driving routes beneath towering eucalypts and tree ferns. Friendly villages where ex-city folk have settled, bringing their coffee and brunch along.

Unlike other regions, Gippsland is also home to a wealth of world-class natural reserves including the UNESCO Croajingolong Biosphere Reserve, Wilsons Promontory National Park, Tarra Bulga National Park and the largest inland lakes system in Australia, the Gippsland Lakes.

However, in a region as vast, diverse and undiscovered as Gippsland, it can be a little hard to know where to start!

The Eat.Drink.Gippsland guide encompasses new wine touring routes, town guides, farm gate maps, farmers market calendars and stories of some of the region's most inspirational food and drink ambassadors.

You're invited to explore all that Gippsland has to offer and this guide will help you plan your journey, hook you up with the producers or restauranteurs and suggest the best routes.

Guides are available throughout the region at visitor information centres, quality food and drink venues, cellar doors at the Melbourne Visitor Information Centre and at Pastuso Restaurant in ACDC Lane.  You can also pick them up at selected events.
