Longleat is a picturesque Victorian vineyard situated on the west bank of the Goulburn River at Murchison. The 40 acre property grows Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes for premium red wines and Semillon and Riesling grapes for delicate white wines. There are 20 acres currently under vine with room to extend plantings to around 31 acres.
When the Vazzoler family established Murchison wines at Longleat in 2003 it was destiny, having produced beautiful wines in Northern Italy for generations. The Italians on the Piave River and the Australians on the Goulburn at Murchison.
Guido has many years experience making fine wines while Sandra makes cheese using Goulburn Valley cows milk. Since purchasing the vineyard they have established a casual café specialising in cheese platters. Visitors can taste the wines with the winemaker and the cheese with the cheesemaker.
