Seymour is situated on the Goulburn River and contains a great deal of heritage.

One heritage site in particular is Seymour's Old Court House.

The Seymour Court House was completed in the years of 1864. For a period of 9 years beginning in 1865, the Court house was also utilised as a Telegraph Office. Additions were made to the original building in 1865 - 06

During the First World War more additions are repairs were carried out on the building as well as some altercations. The Court House was used up until the new and current building was completed in 1973.

In 1973 Sir George Reid, the Attorney General of Victoria, officially opened the new Court House. In 1974 the Old Court House was in danger of being demolished but was given a reproval by the Government Buildings Advisory Council and the Minister of Public Works.

The Old Seymour Court House is now on the National Trust register of important buildings, and houses various committee groups. Mitchell Shire Council appointed a Committee of Management to oversee, manage and maintain the building, and to improve it as a community facility.

Seymour Court House still remains and is now run by local volunteers as a Visitor Information Centre. The information centre creates a worm friendly atmosphere and our volunteers provide a professional service to travellers looking for all kinds of towns, places, attractions and general information.

Seymour is a centrally located town that is about an hour drive north of Melbourne.

Seymour has major attractions such as parks
