The King Valley’s spring festival, La Dolce Vita, November 19-20, is a festival that showcases the innovative wine styles the region has become known for, the foods that many of the generation have grown up with and the honest and generous hospitality that the family owned businesses of the King Valley pride themselves on.
Visitors will not only be able to sample Sangiovese and Prosecco in its Australian home, they can also journey around te world by tasting a range of intriguing Italian, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Russian and French varieties at the participating wineries. Varieties such as Arneis, Pinot Grigio, Savignan, Verduzzo, Barbera, Nebbiolo and Tempranillo sit alongside more mainstream varieties for a tasting experience like no other.
There will be plenty to see and do for all the family with a range of delicious food including breakfast crepes, handmade pasta and gnocchi, wood fired pizzas, cheese plates, antipasto platters, seafood and more... Not to mention delectable dolce prepared by Italian Nonna’s and great coffee. There will be live music and activities including gnocchi rolling and wine spitting competitions, bocce, helicopter rides, kids areas and activities, a jumping castle, a giant chess board and special lunches and dinners (bookings required).
The 10 participating wineries are Boggy Creek, Brown Brothers, Chrismont, Ciccone, La Cantina, Merkel, Pizzini, Politini and Sam Miranda; and each winery bring its own unique style and character to the event. Experience the true Italian spirit and the sweet life this November in the King Valley.
