Merkel Wines is located in Myrrhee, North east Victoria. Myrrhee forms the southwest corner of the King Valley wine region. King Valley is a renowned cool climate wine region.
Previously known as Toombullup North Winery, Merkel Wines is the passion of two brothers, Glen and Rob Merkel. The Merkel Wines vineyard features rich volcanic soils at elevations up to 580m. Annually the region receives some 800mm to 1000mm of rain. The hot summers, cool nights, rich volcanic soils produce long ripening seasons and wines of intense flavours and complexity.
Merkel Family Reserve wines are hand crafted, small batches of wine made from premium, estate grown King Valley fruit. The best batches are carefully selected and blended giving the wines refined complexity and bouquet. Wines are currently available via mail order and selcted markets.
