Victoria’s High Country is welcoming back the warm with a range of brand new ways to taste, traipse and trundle through some of regional Australia’s most Insta-worthy countryside and picture perfect villages.

Here are the Top 10 New Ways to experience the High Country this spring:

  1. Mt Buller on two legs and two wheels – Mt Buller Hike & Bike is a new weekend adventure at Mt Buller from ‘Hike Priestess’ Ness Hineberg’s Skadi Adventures & Narelle Rademaker of Mansfield’s All Terrain Cycles.

    Fully catered & guided tour includes a leisurely hike up the mountain, stunning sunset vistas, great food, a cosy night in a lodge and a MTB descent on two wheels via the beautiful Delatite River Trail. Skills sessions included!
  2. Blissful indulgence at the new Spa at Beechworth, the High Country’s first, and last word in wellness. Owner Deb Donkers has opened stunning new premises at an historic hospital with stonking views over Beechworth. Luxe spa treatments, exclusive environmentally friendly Beechworth Spa plant-based body-care treatments and superb new on-site accommodation.

  3. Five star food with a view at chef Emma Handley’s new Templar Lodge.

    New to the beautiful Kiewa Valley this much-awarded chef (formerly Executive Chef at Astra/Huski at Falls Creek and Hatted Villa Gusto in the Buckland Valley) is showcasing fresh locally grown produce (much of from her own farm) and a sensational wine list by wine consultant and multi-award winning Sommelier, Ben Edwards, that includes local heroes Mayford and Fighting Gully .
  4. Cook, Cycle, Feast experiences from the Myrtleford Cycle Centre including the new Rolling Gnocchi Cycle Tour. Learn how to make gnocchi like an expert with Roberto from Cafe Delize and, while the sauce is bubbling, head out on a leisurely guided pedal to nearby farm gates and cellar doors. Return for a well-earned authentic Italian feast.

    Rolling Gnocchi is one of several tailor-made foodie cycling tours, which also include a Yoga Ride and a Moroccan Tagines & Tea tour.

  8. Get down to earth in Stanley, a tiny Brigadoon of a place hidden in the hills above Beechworth. Black Barn Farm is a new heritage apple orchard grown using sustainable permaculture methods. From this December, Black Barn will open its sister orchard, Europa Gully, for pick-your-own cherries and apples.

    Meanwhile, back at the Barn, choose from the 70 different varieties of heritage trees offered for sale or sign on for one of their regular workshops in everything from grafting to seed saving to learning how to be a sustainable gardener.
  9. Tales, Trails & Tucker at Falls Creek. Join local historian Ken Bell from the Falls Creek Museum on this meandering 4km walk taking in iconic Cattlemen’s Huts and the stunning scenery of the Bogong High Plains. Then tuck into a sumptuous picnic of local produce, wine and beverages from Diana Alpine Lodge.
