Grassy Point Winery is located at Coatsworth Farm, Portarlington, east of Geelong, on the Bellarine Peninsula wine trail, Southern Victoria.

Coatsworth Winery (aka Grassy Point Wines) is located at Coatsworth Farm, Portarlington, east of Geelong, on the Bellarine Peninsula, Southern Victoria.

Planings of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Franc. Sauvignon Blanc and Shiraz commenced in1997 when partners David Smith and Robert Bennett & Kerry Jones purchased the 32 hectares of grazing land.

The property was selected for its undulating northerly aspect, sandy loam soils and maritime climate. Wine grape growing is complemented on Coatsworth Farm by foraging South Devon beef cattle and Perendale ewes to produce prime lambs, all grazing in paddocks beyond the vines.

Ecologically sustainable farming principles have been utilised in planning and practice at Coatsworth Farm. Extensive plantings of indigenous trees have been established to provide shelter to the vineyard and grazing livestock. The property has ample water storage where many varieties of wading, migratory and water birds are to be found.
