Innisfail Vineyard (established in 1980) is located at Bateford, in the heart of the Moorabool Valley, near Geelong on the Bellarine Peninsu in South Eastern Victoria.

The wine maker for the Innisfail brand, since 2000 is Nick Farr, of the acclaimed Farr wine making family. With extensive experience in Australia, France and California, Nick has infused the Innisfail brand with his unique sensibility and the label has gone from strength to strength. Wines created from this vineyard, are now made at nearby Bannockburn in a state of the art winery.

2004 was the first vintage in the new winery situated in Bannockburn. Fruit sourced from the Innisfail vineyard (on Northern slopes of the Moorabool Valley) grows in deep volcanic soils, lined with limestone. Established for 20 years, the Innisfail vines consist of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Merlot. The winemaking process in all years has been very hands-on with hand picking and pigeage methods applied.

Pinot and merlot are aged in 30% new French oak, mainly from the forest of Vosges and Allier. Chardonnay is aged in 30% new French oak for 12 months.

Innisfail's hearty fruit along with Nick Farr's skill should not, and cannot, be missed.
