Toolangi Vineyards is located in Dixon's Creek in the Yarra Valley (Dandenong Ranges In Melbounre Surrounds), Victoria, approximately 6 kms north of Yarra Glen. Adjoining the Toolangi State Forest, the property is ideally suited to the cultivation of high quality grapes.
Julie and Garry Hounsell acquired the property in early 1995 and the vineyards first plantings occurred in December of that year. Since 1995 further plantings have progressively occurred and now some thirteen hectares are under vine.
The vineyard sites are well drained with gentle slopes all having a north-easterly orientation. The soil is predominantly clay, covered by a thin layer of topsoil, the topsoil a combination of stones and shale
