Passing Clouds father and son winemakers, Graeme and Cameron Leith, both enthusiastically embrace Burgundy's traditional wine-making philosophies so it's not surprising their red wines are all excellent quality and and age particularly well.

Grapes are sourced from the sandy clay loam of Kingower in the Bendigo region and from the cool climate of Macedon and produce these premium quality, award-winning wines:


Macedon Ranges Chardonnay 2009

This cool climate chardonnay is from the Macedon Ranges vineyard just outside of Daylesford. Made in the chablis style it displays crisp, citrus and mineral aromas with a whiff of good quality French oak. These aromas follow through on to the palate with nice, lively acidity.

Macedon Ranges Pinot Noir 2009

The vineyard's balance comes through in this wine. Light cherry red in colour it displays classic Macedon aromas of strawberry, cherry and raspberry. The high altitude of the Daylesford (Musk) vineyard and slow ripening period give this pinot a long finish with enticing tannins and lovely Burgundian acidity. This wine has developed superbly in the bottle over the last couple of months and cellaring is recommended.

Bendigo Shiraz 2008

A blend of fruit grown on Zonnebeke’s granite sands and Kingower’s sandy loams aids in this wine's complexity. Aromas of blackberry, licorice and sweet dark fruits with a touch of perfume follow on to the palate with soft tannins, good length and a rich mouthfeel. This wine is designed for relatively early drinking, although it will cellar happily for a further 5-6 years.

Graeme's Blend Shiraz Cabernet 2006

This wine has been made since 1980 from the traditional blend of 60% Shiraz and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon. A combination that certainly aids its complexity.

Superb primary dark fruit aromas are complemented by well integrated oak influences. A supple mouthfeel with soft tannins and a lingering finish.

Passing Clouds Pinot Noir 2008

The richness of the Coldstream fruit grown by Vanessa and Robert McKernan is complemented by the subtleties and fantastic natural acid from a small addition of pinot grapes from the Passing Clouds Daylesford vineyard in the Macedon ranges.

With spiciness and some vegetative complexity on the nose; rich, dark red cherries on the palate, a great mouthfeel and lingering finish this is a terrific wine to complement light red meats or simply on its own, shared with friends.

Reserve Pinot 2006

This is a rich, fulfilling pinot. Aromas of dark cherry, spice and game follow through onto the voluptuous palate. Very well structured with length and complementary French oak influences make this is another classic Passing Clouds pinot.
