Step back in time when you enter this beautiful historic Post Office that served the early Victorian gold miners and landowners as a telegraph and Post Office in the late 1800's.


Located in the beautiful Victorian country township of St.Arnaud and surrounded by many other historical buildings, the 'Old Post Office' is the only privately owned building in the historic precinct.


Situated opposite the Queen Mary Botanical Gardens, guests can enjoy a leisurely stroll through the fine specimens of trees, from all over the world, flourishing there. Of particular interest is the Palm Tree exhibit.


It is a one minute walk to the shopping centre and eating establishments and a short adventure drive to local sights such as - Volcano Storage reservoir, Melville caves, Waxflower Gardens, Town Lookout, Pyrenees wineries, Eucalyptus Distillery, National Parks, 4WD trails, fishing, horse racing, gold prospecting and more...


Accommodation in this grand Old Post Office is comprised of two suites- the luxurious 'Queen Apartment' which is self-contained, with a fully appointed kitchen, separate lounge, Queen sized bed and ensuite. All furnished with antiques in cream and dusty pink. The second 'Queen Bedroom Suite' is upstairs and looks out to the beautiful Queen Mary Gardens. This elegant spacious room contains a half tester bed and has a fully tiled modern ensuite. It is charmingly furnished in cream lace and pale green satin. Visitors wake to a delicious fully cooked breakfast.


Downstairs and facing the main road, is the airy and bright 'Old Post Office Cafe', which sells sumptuous gourmet foods, from 10am to 4.30pm Dining can be inside in the country-style atmosphere of the Cafe or outside, alfresco, in the lush cottage gardens, complete with fountain and wishing well!
