Goodeberry Hill make an Extra Virgin Olive Oil from handpicked olives.

Among 6 hectares of land in a hidden valley hard by the Devil Bend Reservoir they have planted 2 ½ hectares with five varieties of olive trees aged from three to seven years.

The principal variety is Frantoio, a sturdy tree native to Tuscany, the oil is noted for flavour and silky texture. They were pleased with the high yield from this variety, an opalescent green to delight the eye with a peppery zing to tickle the palate. They combined Manzanillo 50/50 with California Queen to produce a mellow golden oil, one which does not dominate and which will appeal to those people less familiar with olive oil varieties; very suitable for making real mayonnaise. The Nevadillo Blanco produces a lusty, rich green oil ideal for dishes such as ‘Spaghetti con olio e aglio'. Truly the oil for olive oil lovers! Olive Oil is a fresh fruit juice best handled gently and all used up by the time the next crop is ready. The oils are very fresh, processed in May and June, and are unfiltered for maximum flavour. Note the peppery after-taste indicating good keeping quality. Pure unfiltered oils such as these are at their best at around three months after extraction and should be used up by the next harvest. (Allow the sediment to form and use the clear oil.) Gooseberry Hill is the perfect place to escape for a relaxing break in the country with only the songs of frogs to serenade you. The farm cottage is located at Moorooduc at the heart of the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria.
