Since purchasing the Somers General Store property in March 2008, in need of some major repairs, owner Leisa Wharington has had plenty of time to reflect on why she decided to take on such a project. One of the main reasons is that living on the Peninsula all of her life where general stores have played a central role in the community she believes it is important to see The Somers General Store continue this tradition.
Hoping to retain as much of the history of the store as possible while giving local residents and visitors a chance to enjoy the best of peninsula produce. Stop by for a coffee, cake, morning newspaper and a chat.
