The 2009 Mornington Peninsula Harvest to Table is a treat for food and wine lovers. Spread across ten days from March 13 to 22 visitors to the region can enjoy a variety of events and feasts, mingle with the makers, get in touch with your inner vegan and create your own real ale. 

There are many events on offer and below we highlight just a few of our favourites. Check the links below for a full program of events.

Mar 14 and 21 - Real Ale Workshop at Hickinbotham of Dromana

The rise of the microbrewery industry in recent years has inspired people to discover what a diverse beverage beer can be. Andrew Hickinbotham takes consumers one step further and invites you to brew your own real ale from the grain up! Held over two consecutive Saturdays, join Andrew and friends to unleash the master brewer inside you. Numbers are limited, and we advise you book asap.

Mar 14 - The Chef and The Cook at Montalto Vineyard & Olive Grove

Fans of the Chef and The Cook will be delighted by Montalto’s own version – the Chef and the Gardener. Hosted by Montalto’s Chef de Cuisine Barry Davis and gardener/owner Wendy Mitchell, you will explore the extensive gardens, orchard and olive grove enticing your senses before taking part in a five-course degustation menu created from the abundant produce at Montalto. Bookings essential, $85 per person (food only)

Mar 15 - Festival of Olives at Olio Zito

The Mornington Peninsula Olive Association invites you to join them for great day in the Grove. Set amongst some of the most beautiful country in Victoria this will be a day filled with information, cooking demonstrations and opportunities to taste and learn the differences in some of the best oil the Peninsula has to offer and purchase your favourite olive products for the kitchen. Put the 15th of March in your diary as a day not to miss.  Food and refreshments will be available.

Mar 17 - MP Gourmet Seasonal Table

Kleenmaid is not your usual host for a Harvest to Table event, but step inside on the evening of Tuesday 17th March and you will have the opportunity to mingle with a number of the Mornington Peninsula’s restauranteurs, producers, growers and winemakers. Indulge in fresh canapés, enjoy the fine wines of Darling Park and experience food prepared in Kleenmaid’s exciting natural atmospheric stream cooker – the healthy appliance of the future! Bookings essential.

Mar 19 - Vegans, Vegetarians and Vino at Nazaaray Estate

For all Vegans and Vegetarians, or just the V Curious among you, Nirmal and Paramdeep of Nazaaray Estate invite you to join them at the winery on Thursday 19th March. Come and hear a medical doctor discuss how best to balance the food pyramid, participate in creating a three course feast and enjoy a glass or two of Nazaaray’s own award winning wines. Members will receive a 15% discount on the price if you book prior to 28th February.

Mar 22 - Street Hawkers Festival

Nazaaray Estate is also again holding their Street Hawkers Festival and Bollywood Extravaganza, a hi light of the 2008 Melbourne Food and Wine Festival! To be held at the winery on Sunday 22nd March, grab a friend, put on your dancing shoes and make your way down to Flinders. Members will receive a 10% discount on the price if you book prior to 28th February.

Mar 14 & 21 - Breadmaking with the Red Hill Baker

And lastly, one for the kids, the renowned Red Hill Bakers, Jill and Ray Johns, invite children (aged 5 – 12) to discover the delights of baking bread on either the 14th or 21st March at 2:30pm. This event is free and we suggest you grab a coffee and a treat from the bakery then sit back and relax while the kids create. Bookings essential.
