Ermes Estate is now closed and the site has been taken over by Jones Rd Vineyard.
Historical: Ermes Estate has a genuine rural feel; it's a little bit of Italy meets Australia on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria. Ermes Estate reflects owner Ermes Zucchet's origins in Friuli, Northern Italy, and the forty-plus years he's lived in Australia.
Tall trees, rosebushes and a view across a pretty valley to the distant sea make this a very pleasant destination; so too does the Zucchet family's friendly hospitality, and once a month the wood-fired pizza oven is fired up to prepare things like roasts, pizzas and lasagne for appreciative visitors.
The wines have an Italian feel too - dry Pinot Grigio and Merlot, and Riesling with 10% Malvasia to add an Italian accent.
