Peter and Georgina Parker retained Gary Farr (of Bannockburn) as viticultural consultant before they commenced establishment of their two-hectare pinot noir vineyard.
They say, 'He has been an extraordinarily helpful and stern taskmaster from day 1. He advised on clonal selection, trellis design and planting density, and visits the vineyard regularly to monitor canopy management.' (Son Nick Farr completes the circle as contract winemaker.)
The vineyard is planted to a sophisticated and rare collection of new pinot noir clones, and is being planted at the ultra-high density of 500mm spacing on one-metre high trellising.
