The Rigel star reflects the philosophy of our wines – to shine boldly and brightly."
Rigel owns two vineyard properties which provide contrasting viticultural and climatic conditions suited to the wine styles for each label.
One of these vineyards is situated in Shoreham on the Mornington Peninsula and is perhaps one of the most idyllic vineyard sites in Victoria. Nestled on a slope that rolls gently down to the water's edge on Westernport Bay, this is truly maritime viticulture. The climate is generally cool with a regular sea breeze to keep air mobile. Sunshine hours are abundant and so to is the autumn/winter rainfall.
The second vineyard, Woodsome Lees, is located in Tocumwal, NSW.
Our wine range is uncomplicated, immediate and good value enjoyment, perfect for any occasion. Made from fruit grown on our local Shoreham vineyard, the wines are made to enhance pristine fruit flavours with little or no oak influence.
Rigel Wines no longer operates Merricks General Store, which is now a joint venture between Elgee Park, Balnarring Vineyard (Quealy Wines) and Ballieu Vineyard, and operates as a joint cellar door for these three wine producers.
