Yabby Lake Vineyard was established in 1998 by Robert and Mem Kirby on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula, with the long-term goal of producing benchmark wines from the Burgundian varieties pinot noir and chardonnay.

Robert and Mem were intimately involved in the Mornington Peninsula region for decades but in 2008 they handed control to the next generation and today the family legacy continues with children Nina and Clark carrying on the tradition of working with some of the industry's best talent to deliver exceptional wine.

Also in 2008, Tom Carson, ex Yering Station winemaker, joined the team as Chief Winemaker and General Manager for both Yabby Lake Vineyard and Heathcote Estate.

They now own vineyards in three distinct Victorian regions and produce single vineyard wines under the Yabby Lake and Heathcote Estate labels. Red Claw and Cooralook are regional expressions of the Peninsula, Heathcote and the Strathbogie Ranges.

As well as warmly welcoming visitors to the cellar doors, Yabby Lake is now an international business taking their wine from the local bar to the world.
