Dromana Estate has been a part of the fabric of Mornington Peninsula’s wine industry since its inception in 1982. Today you will find Dromana Estate in the beautiful and historic Tuerong Park, just off the Moorooduc Freeway and less than an hour’s drive from Melbourne.

About Dromana Estate

The Tuerong Homestead incorporates a cellar door and restaurant and along its walls a selection of fine art by local artists are on display. Set amidst beautifully manicured grounds you have the opportunity to cosy up by the fire in the cooler months or relax outside on the garden terrace and lawns when the weather is fine.

What will I find here?

At cellar door, you’ll be ensured a warm welcome and the opportunity to taste from a range of over a dozen wines from cool crisp chardonnay and pinot gris to rich italian reds.

Head chef Stan Ice leads the team in the Dromana Estate Restaurant offering guests a set a la carte menu along with a selection of daily specials focusing upon local produce.

If you’re in the mood for more casual dining, then grab a table in the al fresco pizzeria area while the children play safely on the lawn and in amongst the branches of the weeping elm tree.

What should I ask to try?

Winemaker Duncan Buchanan, despite his Scottish sounding roots, is passionate about French and Italian varietal wines. Start off your tasting with fine chardonnay and pinot noir from the Dromana Estate and Mornington Estate ranges before moving on to some Italian varietal wines from the very popular ‘i’ range including the ‘little rascal’ arneis, a pinot grigio, sangiovese and nebbiolo.

At cellar door you will also find David Traeger Wines from Victoria’s Goulburn Valley including a bargain of a verdelho that consistently receives accolades across the globe.

What’s On?

October 1st to 31st is Scarecrow Festival time. Keep an eye out for some quirky and crazy scarecrow creations popping up all over the Mornington Peninsula. At Dromana Estate you’ll find the ‘StanCrow’, a very impressive scarecrow chef crafted out of old vine canes.

During Mornington Peninsula’s Pinot Week, (October 8 to 16), drop into Dromana Estate for a very tasty Pinot and Platter.

Let’s Go!

Dromana Estate is located less than an hour south of Melbourne just off the Moorooduc Freeway in Tuerong. The cellar door and restaurant are open Wednesday to Sunday 11am to 4pm (12pm for lunch). Open Friday and Saturday evenings for dinner functions only.
