Tahbilk, Victoria's oldest family owned winery, situated in Victoria's picturesque Nagambie Lakes region, is hosting its annual Family Open Day on Sunday 12th October 2008. Guests are invited to join the Purbrick family for a fun filled day of fine wine, food and entertainment in the grounds of the historic Tahbilk property.

Only a leisurely 90 minute drive from Melbourne's CBD, Tahbilk's Family Open Day offers a range of free activities for all the family to enjoy. Gates open at 11.00am until 5.00pm and there will be something for everyone including:

- Tasting of the latest premium estate grown Eric Stevens Purbrick & 1860 Vines releases alongside selected vintages in the historic Museum
- Music from renowned Blues performer Bob Sedergreen in the historic cellar yard
- Free guided cruises on the magnificent waterways of the Wetlands Reserve, leaving every half hour from 12noon to 4.00pm
- A range of free kids' activities on the Orchard Picnic Ground with all children under 18 receiving a classic Aussie sausage in bread!
- Free entry to the Tahbilk Wetlands Reserve with its 4.5kms of pathways and boardwalks to stroll
- Guided tours of the original winery and underground cellars, established in 1860 and classified by the National Trust
- Homestead garden viewing with many trees dating back to the early 1850s
- Viewing of the Tahbilk museum which chronicles the long and rich heritage of the Estate

Visitors will also have an opportunity to win a $5000* Wine Cellar of Tahbilk wines including selected premium reds from the flagship Eric Stevens Purbrick and Reserve ranges. Just come along and enter your name for a chance to win!

Tahbilk Chairman John Purbrick will be on the pans in the Chairman's Kitchen marquee, creating and selling delicious lamb kofta for guests to enjoy. John's special Family Day Dish will be served with a selection of his award winning Purbrick and Crawford relishes and chutneys.

Or savour local produce from the magnificent Tahbilk Wetlands Café; eat in, relax and enjoy the stunning views over the wetlands whilst soaking in the festive atmosphere. Select from the full range of Tahbilk wines to sip on the spot, or to take home to enjoy later.
