Imbued with a proud Italian heritage dating back to the 1950s, the King Valley is blessed with the fortuitous combination of good soil, a continental climate and great people passionate about winemaking.
It's the perfect recipe for the production of distinctive wines.
Add a generous splash of Italian viticultural tradition and a commitment to the highest possible standards and you have a bottle of Dal Zotto wine.
Their reputation for quality and innovation continues to grow. Not only because their wines are winning awards and accolades but because of their expanding Italian varietal range of which they are proud pioneers in Australia. Vines of Barbera, Prosecco, Sangiovese and Arneis line the Dal Zotto hillsides. Grape varieties that are particularly suited to the King Valley terroir.
A particular source of pride is the release of Dal Zotto Prosecco – this light dry Italian sparkling wine is the first ever in Australian winemaking history.
The importance of Italian heritage cannot be underestimated. Quite simply, Italians adore wine. It is as natural to the dining table as are food, family and friends. This is why Italian wines are simply the most versatile companions to the widest array of foods. And why Dal Zotto love producing them.
The Dal Zotto Estate Cellar Door has moved to its new home on the main road through Whitfield, also home to their second vineyard.
Housed in stunningly renovated tobacco sheds, it is a fitting tribute to the King Valley's agricultural heritage.
