Wirruna Estate vineyard is located on the shore of Lake Hume in north east Victoria, Australia. Wirruna is a boutique winery specialising in three varieties of grapes - shiraz, marsanne and durif.
The vineyard was established in 1997, when they planted 2,500 Shiraz and 500 Durif vines all grafted on Californian rootstock. In 2000, a further 500 Durif and 2000 Marsanne vines were planted, all grafted on Californian rootstock. The wine is made on site at the Wirruna Estate by the owner/winemaker - John Woodhouse, then matures on French Oak for 12 months.
The Curly Vine wine bodycare company utilises the byproduct of the winemaking process called 'wine lees' from Wirruna Estate.
