Australian Music Events is pleased to announce that popular Australian artists- soprano and Opera Australia star Antoinette Halloran and tenor Roy Best will appear at Opera by the Lock 2011. Making a special appearance is Kamahl; for over four decades he has been one of the most sensational recording artists in Australian history! They will be joined by 80 voices and the Alpha Sinfonia led by opera and concert conductor Dr David Kram.
Staged at Lock 11, Mildura, Opera by the Lock is a magical evening of classical favourites and now firmly established as one of regional Victoria's cultural highlights. Set against a backdrop of the Murray River and majestic red gums, the event offers patrons a chance to indulge their senses in glorious music.
Fine regional food and wine will be sold through outlets prior to the concert commencing. For something different, the Premium Package is the perfect way to experience Opera by the Lock and we welcome patrons to indulge in the three-course dinner accompanied by fine wines from Deakin Estate and Zilzie Wines. The dinner takes place on board the paddlesteamer the Mundoo moored on the Murray River alongside the concert area. Dessert will be served at interval.
