The 2011 Southern 80 Water ski Classic is a weekend like no other. Attracting more than 100,000 people from all over Australia and the world over the action packed 3 days, it offers high speed action on the water as well as action on land with Static Displays of the amazing boats in two places over the weekend. Launch Night on the banks of the Beautiful Murray river, Trade display's and on water displays as well a big screen with live vision of the coats and crews competing. Entertainment and catering is provided for the whole family. The Southern 80 offers entertainment aimed for the kids, as well as the adults, making it the perfect family event.


The Southern 80 Waterski Classic has been running for 45 years and is the premier fixture on the Australian Ski Racing calendar. Recognised and known as The Biggest Waterski Race in the World, boats, drivers and skiers compete at speeds of up to 175km/h against 126 hair raising bends on the mighty Murray course between Torrumbarry and Echuca. The event has more than just ski racing, with Static displays of the boats on two different days, a Launch Night and the Vic Park Boat ramp finish line area offers trade sites, catering, entertainment and a big screen with live footage of the boats competing along the course before they cross the finish line right in front of you.
