Port of Echuca invites you to an evening of great wine and great entertainment at the picturesque Echuca Wharf on Sunday, 7 March 2010 from 5pm. Shakespeare's most popular comedy, Comedy of Errors, is ready to delight audiences as part of Essential Theatre's Shakespeare in the Vines tour.
Performed as the sun sets over the historic Echuca Wharf, the comedy follows two sets of twins who were tragically separated at birth. Watch their accidental meeting years later and then delight in the ensuing medley of romance and comic chaos.
Professional theatre company Essential Theatre has been touring some of Shakespeare's most popular comedies throughout Australia for eight years and is delighted to be performing here in Echuca Moama. Under the watchful eye of director Anna McCrossin-Owen, the drama, romance and slapstick long associated with this wonderful classic will be revealed.
Adding to the show's uniqueness is its intimate style of performance. Entrances and scenes can occur through or in the middle of the crowd, with actors performing without microphones or staging.
Guests are invited to bring their own rugs and chairs, with some of the region's finest wines available on the night. Tickets are also available for a 'meet the cast' Twilight paddlesteamer cruise after the show. Don't miss an evening of great wine, great song and great entertainment at Port of Echuca.
