Wonga Estate is located at 292 Brookleigh Road Strathbogie, Victoria.
Greg and Jady Roberts operate the micro-boutique winery and label from their property at Strathbogie in the Southern Highlands in Victoria. They offer award winning Botique Heathcote Shiraz, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. They have a simple philosophy of producing premium cool climate pinot noir and chardonnay from low yielding estate grown vines.
Wonga Estate combines modern technology and old world winemaking traditions. The wines are handcrafted from whole bunches, foot treading, open ferments, basket pressed, minimally filtered and matured in French oak barriques for a minimum of twelve months.
The terroir is one that provides rich fruit, texture, minerality, good structure and natural acidity. The fruit is in balance when full physiological ripeness is reached and with natural acid retention. Therefore there is no requirement for any acid additions.
Recently only wild yeasts have been used and with high quality French oak selection, no tannin additions are necessary or used.
