Victoria - Melbourne West - regional dining with V/Line
Dining experiences without the car
Media release
Victoria has a deeply entrenched food-loving culture and a culture of eating out. Right across the spectrum, Victorian dining offers great quality and great value, from casual cafes and restaurants through to fine dining.
Ideal for a day trip or weekend away, V/Line offers convenient and affordable transport to excellent wining and dining in places such as Bendigo, Castlemaine, Woodend, Kyneton and Geelong.
Many regional Victorian towns have excellent dining options within a 10-minute walk of the train station and a growing number of people now making the trip part of the day’s experience.
There is no need for a convoy of cars and obligatory designated drivers – V/Line offers foodies the chance to relax and observe the beautiful Victorian countryside on the trip up and – after a belly full of food – a snooze on the way back!
Train travel is also a popular way for families to take the kids on a great day out – where the journey is just as much fun as the destination. V/Line’s Family Traveller tickets (two adults and up to four children) are excellent value, with two children travelling for free per fare paying adult.
Here is just a taste of what’s on offer…
