The Wine Map of Australia by Max Allen (2010), in collaboration with cartographer Max von Wyss, gives us a unique overview of Australia's wine industry, literally.
At a glance you can pinpoint any of the 62 wine regions and many sub regions (both formal and unofficial) to get an immediate visual reference. For example, the size of the Riverina region alone is quite astounding.
Mapping each wine region in Australia is quite a task with this myriad of zones, regions and subregions to incorporate but the Australian Wine Map does it well, combining the map data with evocative text from Max Allen.
A useful guide for anyone who wants Australia's wine landscape at their fingertips or at eye level. It would also be a great addition to your family's map collection, framed to hang in the office or at home.
Available for purchase through the Australian Wine Maps website.
