Established for over 40 years, Mount Avoca has carved a niche as one of Australia's finest small wineries. Recognised for its ability to combine innovation and tradition, the organic vineyard produces small quantities of wonderfully flavoursome fruit and all wine is hand-crafted on-site. Distinctive and honest varietal expression combined with true terroir character have resulted in a level of quality that has seen Mount Avoca win accolades from Wine shows, wine critics and the public alike.

Superb Victorian wines, full flavoured, robust and approachable, including a spicy and berried Shiraz, a chocolatey Cabernet and a concentrated black current and plum Merlot. A limited edition Tempranillo is not to be missed. Mount Avoca's hand crafted Sauvignon Blanc is arguably the best in the Pyrenees with tropical passionfruit notes and a smooth lingering finish. Recent additions include two Sparklings, the intensely flavoured delectable Jack Barry Sparkling Shiraz and a classic Blanc de blancs.

'Mount Avoca's mature vineyards are providing better wines than ever, both traditional hearty reds and fresh whites, but a visit to this vineyard offers more than wine. The Mount Gambier limestone cellar door has the settled feel of a comfy country homestead. There's a place for the kids, picnic and BBQ facilities, and luxurious lodges available if you'd like to stay.' RALPH KYTE-POWELL
