'Parallel Lives: The Art of Eileen Glover and John H Glover' the exhibition has its genesis in conversations between the artist's three daughters about their parents' creative lives and the rich legacy and influence it has had on them and their individual creativity. The exhibition spans 60 years of art making and includes paintings, drawings and mixed media works dating back to the 1930s.
The exhibition explores the connections between the two artists, but also highlights the difference in approach to their art. To paraphrase a comment made by Eileen some years ago: "We might be married, but our art is not." The exhibition covers a range of subjects that reveal the richness of their art practice, extending from accomplished traditional landscapes by John H, Glover to challenging autobiographical later works by Eileen Glover.
