The 20th annual Grampians Grape Escape, to be held in Halls Gap from April 30 to May 1, 2011, will serve up a delectable mix of locally produced wine, mouth-watering food, loads of fun and the ever charming French chef Manu Fieldel.

Around 9,000 foodies, families, groups and international tourists are expected to drink and graze their way around the makeshift food and wine village at the Halls Gap Village Oval, at the base of the majestic Grampians mountain ranges.

Exhibitors will include 100 of Western Victoria's best artisans of wine, beer, olive and lavender products, ice-cream, preserves, gourmet sausages and pies, cookies, cakes and gluten-free food; as well as growers of lentils, fresh fruit and berries and organic produce, yabbies, duck, venison, turkey, honey, teas and herbs.

TV celebrity chef Manu Fieldel will return by popular demand to this year's festival, treating foodies to twice daily cooking demonstrations using local produce with a touch of French flair. He'll also personally sign copies of his first-ever cook book, 'Manu's French Kitchen', to further inspire budding home chefs.

Other festival highlights include the hotly contended auction of Grampians Winemakers' one-off Shiraz, a deluxe Festival Dinner in the main marquee on Saturday night - featuring a delightful menu of local fare matched with regional wines - as well as live bands and roving children's entertainment to keep the audience buzzing throughout the weekend. There'll also be the crowd-pleasing 'grape stomping challenge' at 2pm on the Sunday, with three teams of two stomping their hearts out to fill a wine jug to the brim.
