Grampians Estate has quickly established an iconic reputation for its cool-climate peppery Shiraz. In particular the Streeton Reserve Shiraz label is very successful. These wines rank among the best of the featured styles made within the famous Grampians Wine Region by Mt Langi Ghiran, Bests, Seppelts and other leading wineries.
The small 8 acre vineyard, first planted in 1989, is located south of the Great Dividing Range alongside the Grampians National Park, in Western Victoria. Grampians Estate has fast become one of the region's leading boutique wineries with an impressive list of awards. These include a five star rating from James Halliday and 14 awards since 2002. Notable awards include Best Shiraz at the 2005 National Wine Show and Best Shiraz at the 2002 Victorian Wine Show.
Tom and Sarah Guthrie, with children Pollyanna and Ford, have nurtured their Shiraz and Chardonnay vines with the goal to produce the best premium wines from their onsite winery. The classic Australian painting Land of the Golden Fleece by Sir Arthur Streeton features on many of the labels. The scene incorporates the idyllic location of the current day vineyard and the home of Grampians Estate.
