Located in the picturesque Yarra Valley, Mandala proudly crafts wines of character and finesse, designed to be enjoyed with good food and great company.
Established by the Smedley family in 1999, Mandala has two separate sites under vine, both producing varietals that excel in the region. The Dixons Creek vineyard produces sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, pinot noir, merlot, shiraz and cabernet sauvignon, while the second site at Yarra Junction was selected for its exceptional pinot noir growing conditions.
The contemporary cellar door and glass house restaurant are the heart of the Dixons Creek site, with the restaurant boasting expansive views of the surrounding vineyards and beyond. The Mandala Kitchen work with locally sourced, seasonal produce to create an ever-evolving menu of delicious, internationally influenced food. Mandala hosts a number of events over the year, including a programme of winemaker's dinners with specially designed menus to complement particular wines, vintages or varieties.
Drop in for a cellar door tasting with the friendly staff. All current release wines are available to taste each day, whilst the single site wines including The Compass Chardonnay, The Prophet and The Matriarch Pinot Noirs, The Butterfly Cabernet Sauvignon and The Rock Shiraz join the list on selected weekends. Back vintage and cellar-door only wines are available seasonally.
Mandala merges what makes up the good life - the love of family, food and wine; the best recipe for embracing and savouring life. The cellar door is open seven days a week. The restaurant is open for lunch Wednesday to Sunday and dinner on Saturday.
As recommended by The Age Good Food Guide, visitors should bring their camera, the glass box of a dining room sporting 180-degree vineyard views is gorgeous. Infuse that with knowledgeable, warm service and an easily navigable wine list championing mainly Mandala wines, equals bliss.
