The Manjimup Timber Museum, opened in 1977 has been established by the Shire of Manjimup. The original concept for the unique building designed to resemble a group of karri trees came from Robert Bell of the Western Australian Museum. The aims of the museum are to record the history of the timber industry, which is as old as settlement in Western Australia, the first pit sawn timber having been exported from the colony in 1830. The park will close thirty minutes earlier than the above times, which are for the main exhibition hall. A steam whistle will sound to indicate park closure.
