Yet again Margaret River wine producers triumphed at the internationally competitive Decanter World Wine Awards at the 2011 event in London.
Results announced continue to highlight the preeminent position of Margaret River in the Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and White Blend classes.
In total Margaret River wine producers gathered 4 Regional Trophies, 3 Gold Medals and numerous Silver, Bronze and Commendations across a total entry pool of 12,252 from 44 countries.
Association President, Nigel Gallop, Fraser Gallop Estate said today, 'Margaret River has existed as a wine growing region for just over 40 years and has already achieved great recognition in national and international wine awards, forums and shows. The results for Margaret River at the 2011 Decanter World Wine Awards are not simply an overnight phenomena; this continues a solid trend for the region at Decanter going back at least 4 years.'
The wines that collected a Regional Trophy or Gold Medal at the 2011 Decanter World Wine Awards were:

- Amelia Park 2009 Cabernet Merlot
- Catching Thieves 2010 Cabernet Merlot
- Evans & Tate Redbrook 2008 Chardonnay
- Voyager Estate 2010 Sauvignon Blanc Semillon
Gold Medal
- Stella Bella 2008 Shiraz
- Streicker Wines 2009 Old Vine Chardonnay
- Thompson Estate 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon
