Fermoy Estate takes its name from the town of Fermoy in Country Cork, Ireland, which was founded by an ancestor of the original owner. Situated in Metricup Road in the heart of the Willyabrup Valley in the Margaret River Wine Region, the winery incorporates the latest winemaking technology while preserving traditional styles and practices under the direction of winemaker Michael Kelly.
A striking feature of the vineyard is the abundance of vigour in the vines, reflecting the excellent soil, sound preparation and continuing conservation techniques employed over the years. The soils are described as lateritic, gravelly loams. Their free draining nature, combined with the Mediterranean climate, is the perfect combination for grape growing.
The cellar door sales tasting room is open between 11am and 4:30pm daily. Current releases may be tasted depending on stocks available. Enjoy their wines while viewing exhibits of terracotta pottery by Anji Cicchini, exclusive to Fermoy Estate. These items are available for purchase.
