St Werburgh's Chapel in Mount Barker was built as a place of worship for the original settlers of the area. Examine the excellent craftsmanship and study the history of the church. If your visit falls on a day of worship, attend one of the chapel's regular services which are still held by candlelight as the chapel has never had electricity.

St Werburgh's Church forms part of the Mount Barker Heritage Trail, a 30 kilometre drive around the picturesque Mount Barker and surrounding area. Stop en-route to see the magnificent views from the Mount Barker lookout and visit the many sites of historical interest.

Mount Barker is just over four hours drive south of Perth and the region offers a multitude of attractions to suit all tastes and budgets. A trip to the Porongurup Ranges, the oldest volcanic range in the world, will not disappoint. Wine lovers will love the large selection of first rate wineries. In close proximity to Albany and Denmark, Mount Barker is an excellent base to discover the southeast region.
